To celebrate the 4th of July, I took my wife on a hike to Jennie Lake. She had never been there before but had always heard wonderful things about it. She wasn’t disappointed. Luckily for us, the wild flowers were blooming and the hillsides were full of flowers. A wild fire had burned the area a few years back so the contrast of the flowers against the burnt trees was stunning.
Hiking to Jennie Lake
This can be a taxing hike if you’re not used to hiking at higher elevations or have troubles with elevation gain. The hike is about 4.7 miles to the lake and you gain almost 2,000 feet in elevation over that length. This isn’t a casual walk but if you’re in decent shape and go slowly you shouldn’t have a problem.
This is a popular hike and parking is limited. You want to get here early to beat the crowds and get a parking spot.
