This trip was my first time out of North America. I had run into a friend at a class reunion who was working on a novel. She was looking to put together a group of people to travel to Africa and climb Mt. Kilimanjaro to help her prepare and research for the book. For various reasons, we switched from climbing Kili to a safari instead. A co-worker had asked if I was taking a camera and I said yes I had a small camera I was bringing with me. She suggested that I should buy a better camera and I took her up on her advice. These pictures were taken on a camera that was unfamiliar to me at the time that I had owned for less than a week. I was surprised when I returned back to the states and saw that the images I captured were better than anything I had ever captured before and thus the photo bug bit hard.
